Who we are
Based in the Old Cooperative Buildings in Sacriston, County Durham; Woodshed Workshop has renovated a number of units to provide a welcoming workshop environment and learning spaces in which people have the opportunity to gain amazing skills and experiences that positively change lives.
Woodshed Workshop is a Community Interest Company providing wood-working training, education, employability skills and person-centred support for people from diverse backgrounds.
We focus on delivering meaningful learning experiences and opportunities within a number of learning pathways. We support the long term unemployed, individuals whose opportunities are limited as a result of multiple barriers including mental health needs, physical or learning disabilities. Young people who are NEET are supported through the provision of an alternative education programme working in partnership with local schools.
We design and create high quality wood furniture and products through innovative use of reclaimed, recycled, reused, ethically and locally sourced wood. We create quirky, unusual one of a kind bespoke pieces to order for both individual customers and for business-to-business contracts.
We showcase a selection of products within our retail space; this includes bespoke creations, vintage and antique items, local artisan products and a refill station within our shop front area.
We pride ourselves on being environmentally friendly, sustainable and ethical in our outlook and delivery, whilst promoting the shop local agenda, to actively support the local economy and community as a whole.
All profit gained by our work is reinvested into the company to sustain and grow our Woodshed Workshop family, with the overarching aim to reach as many individuals and families as possible.
