Who we are
Based in the stunning Old Cooperative Buildings in Sacriston, County Durham, Woodshed Workshop gives anyone who needs a chance the opportunity to gain amazing skills and helps positively change lives.
Woodshed Workshop is a Community Interest Company which provides wood-working, DIY, trade, employability skills and pastoral, person-centred support to people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
We focus on delivering meaningful experiences and opportunities to the long term unemployed, to young people who are NEET, veterans, to those whose opportunities are limited as a result of mental, physical or learning disabilities and through the provision of an alternative education programme.
We design and create high quality wood furniture and products through innovative use of reclaimed, recycled, reused, and ethically and locally sourced wood. We create quirky, unusual one of a kind bespoke pieces to order for both consumers and for business-to-business contracts.
We also retail vintage and antique items, local artisan products and have a refill station within our showroom space.
We pride ourselves on being environmentally friendly, sustainable and ethical in our outlook and delivery, whilst promoting the shop local agenda, which is to actively support the local economy and community as a whole.
All profit gained by our work is reinvested in the project to sustain and grow our Woodshed Workshop family, with the overarching aim to reach as many individuals and families as possible.
